Wills and Estate Planning
There’s no such thing as being too prepared.
Death is often unexpected. A proper, valid will is the difference between a family that can grieve and a family that has to fight paperwork while they do. We help you put your affairs in order properly, and we keep the process straightforward.
Legal fees and other costs in an estate confuse most people, and they can quietly drain its liquidity: executor's fees, estate duty, taxes and creditors' claims all come off before your heirs see anything. We assess your estate's liquidity, show you the surplus or shortfall in plain numbers, and can refer you to a certified financial planner if there is a gap to close. We also advise on the appointment of guardians, executors and trustees, and on the Guardian's Fund.
The people you love should never have to guess what you wanted. A clear, valid will is the difference between a family that can grieve and one left fighting paperwork while they do.

Common questions
Your estate is distributed according to the Intestate Succession Act, a fixed legal formula that decides who inherits. It may not match your wishes at all, and it usually makes winding up the estate slower and harder on your family.
In broad terms, it must be in writing and signed by you in the presence of two competent witnesses, who sign it too. Small execution mistakes can invalidate a will, which is why having it professionally drafted and signed under guidance is worth it.
